When Steve asked me to design his latest Website, I had no hesitation in agreeing. Steve keeps alive the traditional side of angling and makes high quality reproductions and working pieces that are accurately reproduced and stunning in detail.

Contained in the Site are only some of the unusual angling artefacts that Steve produces. Each piece is individually crafted from scratch and the photos speak for themselves-you won’t find any mass-produced tat from China on this Site!

Being a keen angler and owner of the www.anglingnews.net, website I get to see and review many different types of tackle from various manufacturers.

So I was intrigued when Steve contacted me asking if I would review his Bamboo Ratchet Brake reel. Steve is an independent sole trader craftsman designing and handcrafting his work in his own workshop.

The parcel arrived a few days later. Curious, I did not hesitate to open it. The reel contained therein was much more than I had expected -- a beautifully crafted wooden and brass creation from a time when reel design was in it’s infancy.

It is rare but very refreshing these days to find an individual so enthusiastic and caring about his craft and the work he produces Steve certainly is that rare individual in every sense of the word.

I have fished with his wonderful reel and it is a pleasure and an experience to use. It has taken pride of place in my collection. Steve’s diverse range of functional quality gifts are amazing and I would recommend him for that something different extra special gift.
